IM Site Evaluation Presentation

My site visit for Internal medicine was with Andrea and we discussed 2 comprehensive H&Ps and journal articles in our visits. For the first visit I presented an patient I was rounding during my night shift, whom presented with facial cellulitis. As we discussed my patient, towards the end we had to talk about how I would educate the patient which is very different from my other site visits. Discussing how cellulitis can occur and what are good ways to prevent it from happening were discussion points in my summary. This new addition to the H&P was very interesting to me and I actually enjoyed educating the patient because at times patients may be informed but not in a way they can understand.

For our second article we discussed an article between laparoscopic vs robotic cholecystectomy and its benefits and safety for each. As my findings indicated that laparoscopic may be the better option, Andrea did point out that my research took place when robots were very new and its acceptance and education was a learning curve that many providers had to face. So an article comparing the last 5 years may be more beneficial to see after a decade how Robotic surgeries are holding up. An area I wish to improve would be MOA of certain drugs as I had trouble remembering some during my visit but with the reinforcement of Andrea stating this is a topic on my PANCE, I can improve on this before my last rotation.
